BE Computer Science And Engineering

B.E Computer science and Engineering is one of the most demanded program. The program imparts the fundamentals of Computer Science through a set of core courses. It also equips the students in their chosen specialization, through a set of electives. It is the study of software, hardware, and theoretical aspects of computing devices, along with the study of the application of computing in scientific, engineering, business, and other areas. Computer scientists do many different types of work, from helping computers to run more efficiently, to making them safer, and improving mobile devices and other computerized technologies

Eligibility

Students who have completed 10+2 as per AICTE norms and for Karnataka Govts. CET or COMED-K Exams to be compulsory taken.

Duration

B.E. degree extends over a period of four academic years.

Professional Skills: Ability of using mathematical methodologies for analysis of computing concepts, data structure, computer hardware, layered technologies and suitable algorithm which in turn helps graduates to model, design and implement a system to meet specific requirement

Software Skills: Ability to build Software Engineering System for lifecycle development by using analytical knowledge in Computer Science & Engineering and applying modern methodologies

Dr Latha has filed for an US patent for one of her research works. She has authored a book on ‘Programming in C’ which is widely appreciated and used by the students. She was BoE for VTU in 2013 and currently for Dayanand Sagar University. Being a Reviewer and Technical Program Committee member for many of the IEEE International Conferences and reputed Journals, she is also been awarded, “Outstanding Reviewer award” by reputed Elsevier publishers. She is the Chief Editor for a special issue of International Journal on Next Generation Networks. She has several research  apers to her credit both at National and International level with good Research Indices. She has proved to be good organizer by organizing several Conferences, FDPs, Workshops, Students Symposium, Technical Fests both sponsored (VTU, AICTE, CSI) and self-funded. She is interested in research areas, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Distributed Systems, and Sentimental Analysis. Currently she is guiding 5 Research Scholars.
HOD Message
The department of Computer Science and Engineering established in the year 1999, offers B.E program with an intake of 240, M.Tech in Computer Science with an intake of 36, M.Tech in Software Engineering with an intake of 18 and Research programs in various discipline of Computer Science and Engineering. The department has comprehensive curriculum on topics related to computer hardware and software with emphasis on practical learning. The department conducts various workshops on Bigdata, Cloud computing, Mobile App development, Advanced Java, Networking and current trends.
The department promotes active Industry-Institute collaboration by identifying areas of interest. Department is collaborated with Infosys through campus connect program and Wipro through mission 10x.
The department provides an outstanding research environment complemented by excellence in teaching. The research center has 11 research scholars carrying out their research work. Faculties and students have published more than 140 international and national papers.
The department has been achieving a constant result of 90% and above in every year. With the aim of achieving 100% placement department provides students a platform to attain their career goal. The department has successfully placed students in companies like Infosys, Mphasis, IBM India, HP, RetailOn, Codilar, Tech Mahindra and Amazon. The department has been recognized as one among the best department in the college. We as a team strive hard to take the department to height of success, glory and to achieve our vision.
